Karim and Agatha worked together to redefine the shopping experience using their characteristic joyous color palates and bold shapes. The central display is tapered, mirroring the angled ceiling, creating a forced perspective in the long space. Forged in stainless steel and black-lit acrylic, the displays are movable for flexibility. Because of the small scale of the interior, the decision was to keep a geometric simplicity with a single bold accent on the side wall. The striped mirrored wall is accented by Agatha's iconic heart. The mirrors reflect the street, enlarging the space, and creating a dynamic color changing background for Agatha's products. The bright geometric shapes play off the brightly colored clothes. ";

Once the visitor arrives in the station lobby, he/she is impacted by the soft nature of the space, the striking palette of colors and patterns. Descending and ascending the stairwells on each respective platform, the steps have abstracted portraits of Dante and Beatrice. Once the commuter arrives at the end of the escalator, transformational digital art follows he/she to the platform stairways. Due to their angles and depth, the fins create a play on privacy. The interior of the house is composed of four spaces that represent our main activities: Play, Eat, Sleep and Cleanse. The central space, inspired by Islamic patios, features an oasis with skylight and center plunge pool. Ecological ideas are incorporated into the house, such as solar panel heated water, energy efficient appliances, reuse of pluvial and grey water, low energy LED lighting and raised radiant flooring. These landmarks will draw visitors and residents like never before, creating a harmonious link between city, lake and shore. The private dining booths in the winter area are surrounded by seamless white ceilings and walls that create a sensation of being in an endless space, and a digital fireplace hangs from the ceiling. Our challenge was to take a typically mundane or branded typography and interpret it from a more conceptual basis. We strove to create a space that was high energy, and reflected the speed of a \"fast food\" café. We used bright technical colors and strong curvilinear forms to emphasize speed. At the same time it was very important to remain human with both a physiological and physical softness. All the chairs and tables have rounded edges where the customer will come in contact with them. The doorways and counter windows are also soft shapes. As you move through the space all you experiences are with fluid lines and amorphic forms. The entire facade is covered with small square chrome mosaic tiles. As the customers pass they themselves are digitized by the pixilated reflection. The large open window creates visual interaction with the mall location but keeps the space separated so it has more of a restaurant feel than a food court station.";

A creative concept that communicates and embodies knowledge in the new digital age, language in the shrinking global landscape, innovation and mobility in this third technological revolution. Entering into the station from the piazza to the subway station, the visitor will walk though a space clad with tiles, each one with is printed with new words created in this last century. Once the visitor arrives in the station lobby, he/she is impacted by the soft nature of the space, the striking palette of colors and patterns. Along the back wall of the station lobby level, static iconography provides an interesting siteline as commuters proceed to the platforms below. Intersecting the space between the heads profile benches (metaphorically intersecting the dialogue) is an abstracted, sinewy sculpture reflecting the nodes of the brain and the synapses which occur within. I see our new domestic environment becoming more technological, more engaging, and softer. The house is one open large space that is organic and spacious, and allows objects and furniture to breath. The back wall is LCD polymer wallpaper behind the staircase. The spaces are designed around this idea, that we can have a completely open loft space but it functions without borders or rooms. The bedroom cantilevers over the living space with a pole to slide done into the living area. The space was \"wired\" through the floor with a grid of low-voltage current and data transfer capabilities, providing instantaneous tele-audio-sensorial communications. The idea is that, through the manipulation of touch screen or audio or brainwave feedback, the occupant can change the environment instantaneously, altering qualities such as light, heat, smell, and humidity. By touching the surfaces, images, text, and sound can be surfed, scanned, changed, and morphed. Originally, this house sold for a mere $4,000 and could be built in three days, based on a panel system and post-and-beam structure. There are no first or second floors-a radical concept at the time-just a basement and an attic in a split concept on a single poured-concrete slab. Windows could be placed anywhere in the grid of panels so that each owner could customize his or her house for site-specific views, sunlight, and ventilation.
